The program of the festival “I giorni dello Schiaffo” is divided into two different days: on September 8th, Anagni will enjoy the Palio di San Magno, an exciting horse race with a ring race preceded by an evocative historical parade; on September 9 the visitors will have the chance to see the theatre show “L’Oltraggio dello Schiaffo”.
During the celebrations for the patron saint, propitiatory historical processions alternate with the parades of the representatives of the nine districts of the city, crossing the historic center wearing period costumes inspired by the protagonists of the past. At the end of the celebrations, all the districts gather for the final parade and for the traditional and engaging horse race with ring race.
The theatrical show that will animate the day of 9 September will come to life inside the Palazzo di Bonifacio VIII. The theatrical performance will be followed by a guided tour in medieval costumes in the Caetani district and a tasting of herbal teas and organic products. The direction of the show is by Velia Viti.
